Diversity

“ Together We Are Building Futures & Changing Lives ”

DIVERSITY began in 2004 with our first day services program. It was created as a dream to improve the quality of supports for individuals with an intellectual or developmental disability (IDD). Since that time our support opportunities have grown and so have we.

DIVERSITY is a dynamic human service organization that provides a variety of innovative supports to meet the individual needs of people with an IDD. Developmental disabilities include autism spectrum disorder, intellectual disabilities, down syndrome, etc.

Our mission is pursuing opportunities to partner with individuals with an IDD in their quest of achieving independence, productivity and integration. We have a vision to endlessly seek to be the best resource of supports for the developmental disability population.

At DIVERSITY we have an “anything is possible” attitude. If you can dream it, we do our best to help you to achieve it! Our motto of “Together we are Building Futures and Changing Lives!” is at the core of who we are and how we help to make these goals a reality.

The individuals that we support have goals that include having a better quality of life; making a meaningful contribution to the community, being more productive and independent; and so many more.

We are constantly creating and building community partnerships by thinking outside of the box. These connections help us to grow, be valued and truly be a part of our community. We develop our programs based on the needs of the individuals that we support.

DIVERSITY PROVIDES a continuum of programs that help individuals to meet their goals.

The Group Day Support Program provides meaningful coaching and assistance to individuals with a developmental disability who need minimal to significant amounts of support. Our focus is to help individuals to expand their role in the community, improve the quality of life, and fulfill the goals that they want to accomplish through incorporating civic and volunteer activities. While onsite our curriculum offers a variety of learning opportunities that build knowledge, maintenance of abilities and improve social awareness. There are five different Day Support options available. The supports in each program are planned based on an individual’s ability level, personal goals and dreams. A person-centered plan guides their daily activities. The programs operate from 7:30 am – 6:00 p.m., Monday – Friday.

Whether moving out for the first time or wanting to try a new residential environment, this program offers safe, nurturing opportunity. Residents are supported in developing their individual interests and to make personal choices about activities inside and outside the home environment. They are encouraged to stretch and expand outside of their “comfort zones” to pursue activities as far as their skills and abilities will allow them.

These are very flexible services and can take place in the individual’s home or community setting and typically supplements the care provided by the individual’s family. Services are designed to ensure the health & safety of the individual. This program assists individuals to live in their home or with family members as long as possible. Hours are based on need.
